It doesn’t matter what your particular skills are; the odds are great that you can be a freelancer. Writing, editing, photography,
web design, graphic design, customer service, social media, research,
sales, and more are all tasks that are often outsourced to freelancers.
If you do one of these things, or a number of the other types of work that freelancers are asked to do, you can use the web to start your life as a freelancer.
While you can freelance without the net, the internet makes being a freelancer, finding jobs, and getting paid faster and easier than ever. To start follow these steps.
While you can freelance without the net, the internet makes being a freelancer, finding jobs, and getting paid faster and easier than ever. To start follow these steps.
1. Get your resume ready and join sites like Freelancer or any other freelancing site(FREE).
The first thing you need to do is to join a website that offers you freelancing. There are lots of sites out there. It is up to you on where do you want to join. Be careful though on scams. You don't need to spend anything so avoid sites that offers you high earnings in exchange of membership fees, they are most likely scams.
2.Know what skills do you have/ you excel.
This will help you find projects faster and make your projects better. You don't want to bid on projects you really don't know to do right? Although Some skill can be learned through experience, it is better to start with your current skills.
3. Complete your profiles and/or other details to give employers a better impression to you.
Completing your profiles would attract more employers. You have a complete profile gives an impression that you are willing and dedicated to what you are doing.
4. Bid on your first project/s.
Being new to the website means that having no feedback yet. So you might want to start to bid low as much as possible and don't request milestones yet. This will increase your chances of being hired by the employer. As soon as you gain feedback (of course, you need positive, no negatives as much as possible) you can then increase your bid value.
5.Be dedicated to your projects.
Doing this would make your employer come back to you on his future projects and give you positive feedback. Be good to them always and don't be harsh. Do what you promised to them and submit your work on time.
Tip: Always remember that when you start to decide to earn money through this, it is not as easy as it seems. Be patient and it will pay off one day.
